First make sure that microphone is 'check' and the volume is set at the top. Now speak into your mic and the volume gauge should move. If it does not your audio is not working. Check you connections and sound card setup.

You need to set-up the recorder to capture the screen so click on' Full Screen'. You will be recording the entire screen.

Go the the effects menu and select 'Cursor' and click 'hide cursor', this make sure the cursor is not floating around on your video screen.

The last task is to select Tools' then click on 'Options' then 'Capture'' from the top menu. Change the video type from 'Save as camrec' to 'Save as .avi' . AVI is a standard windows video file but camrec is only accessible in Camtasia.

Now you are ready to go, so minimize the recorder so it just shows on the task bar. Open up your powerpoint slide show, go to view show, and before you start any action with the show push the F9 key, this starts the recorder . CLICK the RECORD button at the bottom of the screen. - GIVE IT ABOUT 3 SECONDS - to get going. Now you can start talking and having transition on the slide show - hey you are making a video - when you have finished just push the F10 key and you will see the video playing back. You can save this or delete and try and do something better. If you save it keep the name simple call it 'video and put it onto your jumpdrive.

Remember this production is going to be visible over the internet so anyone that has your web site address can see this. What a promotional piece.
