Creating the CD
Know where all your files are and scroll to Camtasia Studio 6 on the start menu and select Applications > Camtasia Menu Maker
When you open this application a 'wizard box' will pop up and you have to make a selection.
Step 1
![]()
Click
on 'Create a new project (Advanced)
Step 2
Next comes a box asking you to select a template > select BLANK, you are going to create your own background image. It will look much better than any of those offered in the wizard

Step 3

From the 'Edit' menu, select 'General Properties',
Step 4
Under
'Menu title' put an appropriate name for the CD. This will appear when
the CD is played, so make sure it has some significants to the CD content.
Under 'Image file' click on the folder and find the background image that you have created.
Step 5
Under
'Text' this area let's you set the font size and colour of the text that
will appear in the CD menu. You have Normal > this is the colour that
appears when the CD first loads up > Visited colour is the colour when
the link is clicked > Highlighted colour is the roll-over colour.
When selecting colours it is important to make sure they do not clash with your backgroud. If you do not like the look then you can change this at any time.
Step 6
This
is the most important step. You are now going to select the content for
your CD. Make sure you know where the content is stored on your computer.
It can be anywhere, this MenuMaker will find it and then create a 'staging
folder' with all the content you selected.
Click
this to select a file to include on your CD. This is usually a 'video'
a .wmv file or it could be a document conveted to PDF. Do not include any
MS office files on the CD.
Click
this to link to any web site. You need to put in the complete URL, when
this is clicked on the CD the web site will load up if the user is connected
to the intenet. THIS DOES NOT WORK FOR EMAIL.
Click
this to insert blank lines between menu items or to add static text to
the menu. Static text just appears but does not have any affects or action
(linking ability). I normally us this to place space between menu items.
