Exporting a Fireworks Sliced Image
The purpose of slicing up an image in Fireworks is to import the image into a website.
You are required to have your mockedup webpage display in your website. The page that you will be using to display the mockup is called 'fw_ example'.
Fireworks integration with Dreamweaver makes this a simple task. To start with open up Fireworks and find your sliced mockup webpage.
Step 1
Click on 'File' > Export > you will now see this box . Make sure that you select your website as the location for your sliced up webpage and image folder.
Step 2
When you have selected your website folder you should be looking at something like this. If you do not see all of your website folders and pages then you are in the wrong location.
Step 3 
After you selct your web folder, look at the bottom of the screen and you should be seeing this, check to ensure the following:
- You are exporting the correct file
- You are exporitng HTML and Images
- You are exporting slices
- That the 'include ares without slices and put images in a subfolder are check off.
If everyting is okay then click the Export button >> 
Step 4 
Open up Dreamweaver, make sure that you go through the process to correctly define the site. Now you should be looking at your website folder.
You should see an Image Folder, your fw_example.html page, and your exported mockup_sliced.htm page. If you are unsure of what page is correct look for the one with the .htm extension.
Now open up your fw_example.html page and deleted all of the text on the page.
Step 5
Go to the top menu bar and select the arrow beside this image ![]()
You will see a selectiion of media types, you need Fireworks HTML, so click on it. 

When you click on the Fireworks HTML button this screen will appear. Click the Browse button and go and find your mockup_sliced.htm page. If you are unsure just look for the page with the .htm extension. All your other web paages have a .html extension.
Important
If you see this Error message, just click the okay button. and you should see the sliced up webpage now inside your fw_example.html page.
