Syncronize the site - this puts your site onto the webserver

Synchronization of your web site is critical if you expect your changes to be visible over the internet..

sync

When you synchronize your site 'Dreamweaver' compares what you have changed on the 'Local' system ..that's where you are creating your web site ..in most cases this will be from the site you have on your jump drive.

So, to synchronize your site have your 'Files' panel open and the 'site' selected. Select 'Site' from the top menu bar and click on 'Synchronize Sitewide'.

This box will appear. Make sure that you aresync Synchronizing your 'entire site' and that the Direction: is 'Put new files to remote'. This is the default setting and you should not have to change it. Click the 'Preview' button, a list of the files that have been changed will be displayed. Select 'Okay' you will see the files being sent to the 'remote server'. The list will show 'updated' beside each file. Click the close button. You have successfully updated your site.

When you sync. the site pay attention to the image on the left of the page or pages that are listed as changes. Sometimes this application tries to THINK for you, and will place an unresloved imaged by the file. It will look like this.

You need to change this to the put image (blue arrow) so just click on the action and then click the blue arrow and it will change to 'Put".

You should get into the practice of Synchronizing your site after making changes and ALWAYS SYNCHRONIZE THE ENTIRE SITE.
