Training Video - (Non MRK Students)

 

Overview

Training is a key component in business. With the growing use of high speed and wireless access, companies are beginning to adapt to training that is offered over the internet or on CD or DVD media.

In this project you will be creating a training ‘flash movie’, on how to use a specific component of a ‘BUSINESS’ software application or a function such as securing a wireless network, setting up user groups in Windows 7 or Vista, etc .

This project will include the following:

            A report with a cover page and at least 2 pages outlining the NEED for the training topic  (why is this training required).  Details of what you will be covering in the training topic and the learning outcomes (what will I know after I watch the training video.

            A Camrec movie that demonstrates the effective use of Camtasia Recorder, such as cursor movements, pan and zoom.

            Use of Camtasia Studio to create the necessary table of contents, conversion into a flash movie in the prescribe format

           Embed the training video into a webpage and link from your personal website.  

Details

Training Flash Movie

            The flash training movie is to be approximately 5 minutes in length. The training may consist of several movies. The flash movie must be indexed (have a table of contents) for ease of navigation. The flash movie must be of a size that is easy to view (640 x 480). Any cursor highlight and clicks must be appropriate and the audio MUST BE clear and concise.

            The training and learning outcomes must comply to what you include in your report.

Web Page

            You will create a web page to play the training video. The page must also contain graphics and text that are appropriate for the training lesson.

Grading - to obtain the 20 marks

Report - must be comprehensive and clear out the objectives of the trainiing and outcomes with a cover page, graphic, no spelling or grammar errors - 6 marks.

Camrec File - must demonstrate the training topic as outlined in the report, with effective use of the curosr to guide the viewer through the tutorial, correct lenght (5 min). Audio must be clear and concise. - 8 marks

Encoding - the Camrec file will be imported into Camtasia Studio for conversion to flash. You will create the required table of contents, layout and size of the flash player, embed into a webpage, modify the webpage as required and link from an image on your Training Webpage or from a dropdown menu - 6 marks
