Project 2 - Website - 25 Marks
Your web site must be properly designed with effective use of images, text, and linking. The site will be controlled with a cascading style sheet.
Use of flash or animated gif’s must be kept to a minimum and if they are used they must be appropriate.
All pages must have an acceptable page title.
All pages must be properly linked and all material on the page must display properly in the browser
In order to receive the appropriate marks your site has to look PROFESSIONAL
Your site must have proper navigation and is to included the following pages:
* Web pages marked in RED must be completed by the end of Class in Week 8
Home Page -( 3 Marks *)
This page must contain an introduction to YOUR program. You are to outline the semester that you are currently in, the length of the program. The skill sets that you presently have and what knowledge you will gain by the time you graduate.
You should say something about how you created the site and the applications that you used. You may what to have a link to the School program site. This page must include an appropraite image that floats to the right using the .imageright style.
Graphics Page - ( 5 Marks *)
This page will explain how you used Fireworks to create banners and web page mock ups. You need to explain the use of layers when creating the mockup.
You need to explain the purpose of ‘slicing’ a fireworks image. This page must have an image of your mockup webpage. You can do this by opening the image in fireworks, export it as a .jpg and resize the image to fit your webpage.
Media - Concept- ( 5 Marks )
This page will explain the purpose of your streaming media and how you created the 'info commercial', from design, to video, conversion to .wmv. and flash. The flash movie will be embedded in your ' flash' page and the windows media will load when the appropriate link is selected from the Media dropdown menu.
Get the flash logo from the Adobe site and Camtasia from Techsmith. You should include an overview of WHY streaming is an effective method of training/communicating. You can probably find the required information on the Adobe or TechSmith web site.
Podcast Page ( 3 Marks )
Podcasting and streaming with 'flash' are now the becoming 'main stream' methods for businesses to communicate with employees, current and potential customers.
You are to explain how you created the 'podcast', applications used, and then have your MP3 podcast file embedded in the page so it will play on click.
CD Creation Page ( 5 Marks ) 
You will explain the benefits of using CD's for training/communications/advertising.
Discuss your portfolio CD and the process you followed to create the CD.
You can capture your CD menu by using Snagit and place it on the page. Find
a suitable resource on the Techsmith web site and link to it.
E- Documents ( 2 Marks )
This page will elaborate on the use of Adobe Acrobat. The advantages, including the ability to set security, passwords, print options, etc. Make sure that you include the Adobe Acrobat logo on this page. You must convert a report into PDF and have it linked from this page. The report can be the one you prepared for your group presentation in MRK 264, or some other report from a previous semester.
Make sure that the document has some colour, thumbnails for navigating, and security to restrict printing. The page must open with the thumbnails and in a separate 'window'. Refer to the PDF project for more details
About Me ( 2 Marks )
This page is to include something about you. If you intend to have a resume on your website link it from here. The resume must be in PDF format and should not include any home phone #, or home address.
